Functional extension - Software update 9.03.1 - R11455

As from now a new software image for all products of the ReelBox Avantgarde family is available via online update which can be accessed through the setup of your ReelBox.
The latest version 9.03.1 - R11445 of the ReelBox Avantgarde software once again provides new functions while existing ones have been further improved and expanded.

The long list of ReelBox features is constantly beeing expanded. In order to provide our customers with an overview of existing and planned possibilites, Reel Multimedia provides an updated ReelBox Avantgarde functional overview for all customers who wish to keep track of the software development.

The most important improvents at a glance:

- TV-reception...
Picture-in-picture function: From now on you can access the picture-in-picture funtion by pressing the PiP button of your remote control. By pressing the > key of your remote control you can also alter the picture's postion clockwise. Pressing the yellow button of the remote will flip the contents of the main window and the PiP window. Pressing the blue button of the remote control will lead to the main window adopting the PiP content.

Info: Also during playback of internet radio and mp3 contents PiP can be used, e.g. during commercial breaks.


- MediaPlayer...
Expanded support for .MKV (Matroska) and AVC file formats. Please note that especially during playback of Matroska files different DTS- or Dolby versions might still lead to freezes. However Reel Multimedia will provide further updates with increased .MKV support. The current .MKV and AVC file support is still in beta phase.


- Internet Radio - ShoutCast....
Internet radio: As of now users can add their own favourite radio stations. Via Menu / Music & Pictures / Internet Radio / My Radio Stations new stations and URLs can be added.


- Picture Preview for JPG-Daten...
Improved picture viewer. Both, display quality and speed have been significantly increased. Especially display of large high quality pictures has been improved.


- AudioCD Ripping...
Simply rip your audio CDs automatically to your hard disc at the push of a button. Meta information will be downloaded and added automatically from the internet.


- WLAN Support...
WLAN: WPA and WPA2 support: From now on cuntomers can choose between WEP, WPA- and WPA2- encryption.

- UMTS Support...
Further providers have been added. Users who wish to access the internet via UMTS can now do so.

As from now, a new software version (v.6413-1) for the ReelBox Avantgarde is available for download. Among other improvements, the update includes our new media player V3, which enhances DVD functionality and detection dramatically. Additionally, subtitles now can be displayed. Other improvements include trickmodi (pause, rewind, fast forward, etc.), as well as handling and display of your MP3-library and support of further media types (avi, divx etc.).

Additionally ReelBox Avantgarde owners will benefit from countless refinements, which will enhance comfort in every-day use. We therefore advise all users to upgrade their ReelBox to the latest software version through the online-update function. Detailed information about the update can be found in the Release Notes.
